The third of these I consider pure soulmate relationships. The first two I consider karmic relationships. All are equally important to our growth. What is a soulmate anyway? I've done quite a bit of research on this. Much of it can be found on this site! :-) Quick answer is that no: we do not have only one soulmate. We have many, in many forms. I believe that soulmates are souls we've known in past lifetimes. We have had lifetimes during which we worked out our conflicts or obligations, and we come together again to perpetuate love. The reason we've chosen to come together, or what we've agreed to learn together, I call a 'soul contract'. So they may be friends, siblings, parents or children. They may also be lovers and spouses. Apr 11, 2011 Healing fiction recommendationsThere's something to be said about healing fiction - that is, writing that gently projects and answers our own needs and desires even as it entertains. These are the titles that keep us up late, and in tears of joy, because the writing feels as if it's been written just for us (and in many ways it has). Here's a short list of my favourite healing fiction titles that stimulate the mind and touch the heart: Moondance by Karen M. Black (see link below) Somewhere in Time by Richard Matheson The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach What Dreams May Come by Richard Matheson Three Colour Trilogy by Krzysztof Kieslowski (movies) The Double Life of Veronique by Kieslowski (movie) Now by all means, these aren't exhaustive! Just ones that I've read / seen that did the trick. I'd also dig deeper into these authors and writers in general as they tend to work with metaphysical, emotional themes. Apr 8, 2011 Becoming soulmates in fast timesI wanted to talk briefly about not just attracting or meeting a soulmate, but becoming soulmates. Especially at a time in history, when we expect everything - yesterday. I think there are two ways of looking at this. First, there's the time before you've met... where you look forward to that magic moment. During this time, you get prepared. That's why I recommend you do everything possible to tidy up past love relationships cleanly and then spend some time becoming a soulmate to yourself - first. This way, you'll attract people who are in sync with your new vibration... and are prepared to love you, as much as you do. :-) Then, there's the day to day reality of being with someone and wondering if they are the one. This means living through trials, tribulations and conscious decisions... doing the work which removes the barriers to true intimacy which really is what soulmate love is. In this case... becoming soulmates starts with desire and is manifested through willingness and conscious repeated action. Said another way. There is no magic moment where you meet your soulmate. There are only a string of moments where you choose to open your heart or close it. To love or to fear. These "karmic relationships" can be transformed... each choice we make leading us closer to becoming soulmates who perpetuate love. Read more about that here... Permalink -- click for full blog post "Becoming soulmates in fast times" Mar 8, 2011 Unrequited love and obsession (healing it)Unrequited love and obsession is an excruciatingly painful and sticky situation that you can't 'think' your way out of. Yet, the compulsion and pain is very real. Doreen Virtue speaks about etheric cords which form between people, and through their chakras. When someone is attached to us through our fear of abandonment for example, then this can show up as unrequited love or obsession. Our task? Heal our abandonment wound. I personally don't believe that others can cleanse our chakras or remove cords for us. It's up to us, and (I believe) it's why we're here on this earth. I'm simplifying this idea, of course. In reality, there are many nuances and complexities and it varies from person to person. If this idea resonates for you, I encourage you to delve deeper into your own heart. Find ways to cut the cords yourself and (most of all) heal that part of yourself that allowed the unrequited love or obsession energy to ' hook in' in the first place.
