Researching singles resorts? Great, I have some ideas for you!
When I was learning about my karmic astrology chart, I learned that my Jupiter is in Aries in the 9th house of other cultures and travel. Jupiter rules serendipity and luck. In other words, independent travel can be particularly serendipitious for me.
As for you, whether you pick singles resorts with hundreds of singles, or the possibility to meet just a few, remember: serendipity never sleeps.
As least four people I know personally met their soulmate while traveling:
This is my favourite story about traveling and soulmates:
Cathy and her best friend Jenna had been planning a six month trek to Europe for years. Jenna had also invited Mark, a childhood friend to join them. Just before leaving, Jenna had a family illness and couldn't go. Cathy made the difficult decision to go anyway, though she had never met Mark. Cathy and Mark traveled together, and slowly, fell in love. Fast forward 20 years — they're still together with a grown family.
If you have alot of Sagittarius or 9th house energy, travel and the exploration of other cultures will be particularly central to your soul's purpose. If you have a Sagittarius or 9th house North Node (soul mission), then travel is particularly potent for you! Also, Aquarius is like an international ambassador as well. Single and researching your vacation? Here are some singles resorts and other ideas to consider. Have fun!
Need I say more? I'm more of a lake rather than an ocean gal and would always pick Europe over the Carribbean. One of my favourites is Portugal...the Algarve is spectacular and the people are so nice. I also stayed in Zambujeira Do Mar (wrote about it in my book Moondance, too) which is rugged and wild. However, there are lots of options, whatever your preference.
The big plus is that singles resorts offer amenities. There are usually parties and other activities at night which make it easy to connect. You can relax on beautiful secluded beaches or participate in water sports to get to know other singles better.
You an adventurous type? I had a friend go to Hedonism once in Jamaica. She was quite adventurous, too, but be warned! It's quite raw and she didn't stay there. But if you have alot of Aquarius or Scorpio in you, maybe you like the alternative side of things! No judgement here. ☺

Like something quieter instead of the bustle of singles resorts? Me too. I can personally recommend Casa La Vantana, built on a mountain side where the river meets the sea. It's 45 minutes outside of Puerto Vallarta in a small fishing village called Boca de Tomatlan.
Incidentally, it's where Pi in the bestselling Life of Pi ends up washing up to shore.
If you go, say hi to owner Christina for me and make sure to get her to tell you where to get those fabulous enchiladas on a veranda, made by a local woman in town. The best I've ever had — and I'm picky.
Warning: if you find it hard to climb stairs, Casa may not be the best choice. But! If you like a bit of exercise, it'll be great.
I include cruises under ‘singles resorts’ as all of the resources are contained in one area. I've traveled alone on a cruise. The hardest part is dinnertime, walking into that big dining hall, looking for a single seat while everyone else is grouped up. In a singles cruise, you don't have to go it alone as everyone's in the same boat — literally.
Because cruises include food, non-alcoholic beverages, room and entertainment, they make the perfect cost-effective vacation idea. You can travel with a singles cruise and relax because everything is taken care of.
When a cruise ship plays host like singles resorts, normally part of the boat is reserved for singles, including the cabins, meeting rooms, and entertainment areas. The group sponsoring the trip plans an itinerary that makes a singles cruise more than just mingling around hoping to meet someone.
Activities often include on board mixers, group activities, dancing, and sometimes even guest speakers.
Like singles resorts, you can go just about anywhere on a cruise ship. Maybe you dream of going to Alaska to watch the whales. Or maybe your dream is to see Hawaii and enjoy the local cuisine and even get in a little surfing.
Still not for you? How about Europe? That's my personal favourite. Visit museums, historical sites and taste the finest cuisine, while having a home base.
If you're squeamish about the idea of ‘singles’ resorts, but like the idea of a cruise, consider choosing a cruise that offers a speaker series or a course. Do a search with one of your hobbies and cruises — you might be surprised with what comes up.
Singles cruise options like singles resorts are plentiful and varied. Here are some ideas for you.
Spas, yoga retreats or healthy vacations are an alternative to consider if you've been thinking about singles resorts.
It's a great way to re-connect with yourself, and get into a state of mind which will help you attract your soulmate. Use the quiet space to work out your intentions around your soulmate, and what you're seeking in a relationship. If you're getting over heartbreak, use the time to heal.
Some fitness spas offer guest activities like morning runs, fitness activities, horseback riding, hiking and the like to invigorate the body. Instead of the more heavy-duty sweating, you might instead want to participate in classes: Yoga, t'ai chi, stretching, meditation, listening to new age music and more.
Speaking of yoga and t'ai chi, here's a place I've always wanted to go to. A friend went and loved it. Tao Gardens, 80 private acres of Thai paradise, was created by reknowned teacher Master Mantak Chia.
Mantak Chia's vision is for Tao Gardens “to be one of the best Holistic Health Spas” on the planet. A fascinating aside, Mantak Chia is famous for his sometimes misunderstood books on cultivating male and female sexuality. In person, my friend describes him as calm, warm and very focused.
I'm told that if you get out of the compound, there are cheaper services and food, but I also like the easier option to stay in.
Some spa resorts specialize in healthy cuisine and if you want to learn how to prepare what you are eating, some spas offer cooking classes. I once took a cooking course in Florence this way, also in pre-Katrina New Orleans and it was yummy and fun and relaxed which it makes it easy to connect with people.
Singles meet other singles at these spa vacations who all share one thing in common — feeling great! Use Spa Finder to decide which spa vacation is right for you.
