Why I created The Soulmate Site

I'm Karen M. Black, a writer and founder of this site. I spent 20 years in corporate as a consultant, and I have an MBA from Rotman School of Management in Toronto, Canada.

I have sought answers far and wide. First psychology was it, then spirituality, karmic astrology and past life work. Then along came metaphysics, homeopathy and energy work, among others.

Each was powerful in its own way and I continue to recommend them - and there was something missing in all of them.

• A focus on mindset and behaviour (traditional 'personal development') left out karma and energy
• Emotional and karmic approaches (past life regression, conscious forgiveness) didn't bring transformation deep enough into the physical body
• Physical approaches (e.g. exercise, nutrition) and energetic approaches (e.g. BodyTalk, The Reconnection) didn't consider karma, and dismissed behaviourial change.

You get the point. And!

None of these suggested complementary approaches or offered ongoing support to help me increase Knowingness and discover the combination of approaches best for me.

What's your unique soulmate formula?

What I've observed in myself and hundreds of others is that only a multi-faceted approach to change is effective. One approach does not fit all and no one person or modality has all the answers.

However! If you embrace a multi-faceted approach, then the change you seek successfully makes the long journey from head, to heart and deep into the cells of the body (something that's rarely talked about). Loving Yourself along the way.

As for me, I began to write (and it did help) and what I found is that my writing also helped others. Another piece of my puzzle.

My award-winning novel Moondance is about finding your soulmate, but it's not a Cinderella or Pretty Woman story.

Instead, it shares the mysterious and often messy path to healing and successfully claiming Love in the real-world (at a thriller pace). Took me ten years to write, while I worked full-time and transformed my heart in the process.

In my corporate life, I took pension and benefit information and wrote it in plain language - go figure. It's been fun for me to do the same for complex, unconventional subjects that inspire possibility.
