These feng shui bedroom tips can help create not only restful sleep, but the passionate, magnetic energy of love in your most intimate space.
If there's one area in your home that needs an energetic boost, it’s probably your bedroom. Ask any couple after a hard day at work and they’ll most likely agree. For singles, having a balanced space both nurtures and creates a welcoming, comfy energy that's compatible with soulmate love. A good thing!
Consciously applying the five elements of feng shui bring a more positive energy flow into your home and your love life! Reviewing the position of your furniture does, too!
These feng shui bedroom tips show you how to turn your most private area into a sanctuary — or a love nest! How does your bedroom stack up?
What do you want your bedroom to be? Cozy? Safe? Passionate? Romantic? Healing? Remove everything from your room that doesn’t inspire the feeling you want. Especially get rid of items that represent the past, or heavy memories of any kind. This means icky clutter under the bed! Plus that treadmill that doubles as a clothes hanger. I've mentioned this before and I cannot emphasize it enough. De-cluttering strengthens the law of attraction and so is one of the more critical feng shui bedroom tips in my view. ☺
How's your sex life? Have a TV in your bedroom? If your energy is running a little low, do whatever you can to create most positive energy possible in the bedroom. Not only does the TV get in the way of intimate time with your sweetie, but it's not great for sex drive, either. So remove the electrical charge of televisions, computers, radios and other electronics. Also — cover or remove mirrors that reflect and magnify electricity. These things get in the way of good night's sleep. Not to mention what they do to your health. ☺ Nuff said. Feng shui your bedroom. Which means electronics — out!
Read more about feng shui in the home and your governing element. Then, choose a color that brings balance to your bedroom. When we're asleep, we're at our most open and vulnerable. Our bodies are also repairing itself, so it's important to surround ourselves with the type of energy boost we need! According to feng shui, flesh tones are good for adding sensuality. Deep browns associated with the wood element bring healing, life and vitality. This is one of the feng shui bedroom tips which varies by individual.
Leave space below your bed for energy to flow all around it. Beds with drawers underneath block the energy in your bedroom from surrounding you. Make sure there is room to get into bed from both sides, plus a bedside table on both sides as well.
Also — pull your bed at least six inches from the wall. If you only do one of these feng shui bedroom tips, this is it! This ‘disconnects’ your head with the electrical charges running through your walls. Yikes! Can you imagine what that does to your dreams?
Side note
A bad bed placement can create geopathic stress in your body which in turn can intensify health problems. In fact, Dr. Reimar Banis M.D. N.D. of Germany noted in his book, that every patient he's had that was diagnosed with cancer, also tested positive for geopathic stress. Search Psychosomatic Energetics (PSE) if you want more information. I use PSE remedies personally, by the way and highly recommend them.
Artwork in the living room is for family and friends, but in the bedroom, it’s for you. If you want your bedroom to be a sanctuary, use photos of tropical places, flowers, and other soothing images that reflect how you want to feel there. Choose images that bring out the sensual side of you, or choose images of harmony, partnership and ‘pairs’. I have a beautiful bronze sculpture with a couple holding hands in my bedroom. Also an erotic etching by artist Jurgen Gorg depicting a sensual seduction. And! Candle holders — for two of course.
Different levels of light change the look of the colors in your room. To optimize feng shui for the bedroom, use candles, soft lighting or dimmer switches to let more light in or keep light out. Natural light nourishes your body. Electrical light does not. Sleeping in a completely dark room is also healing. My favourite place to sleep is at the cottage, facing the lake. It's pitch black when I sleep, yet I'm gently nudged awake by the sun (I'm not a morning person — I need gentle feng shui bedroom tips!). My favourite lighting is full spectrum — gentle, efficient and easy on the eyes. I've ordered from this healthy lighting company and I'm happy with their products!
Of the feng shui bedroom tips, this goes a bit into decorating, but really — it's still all about energy. If you can afford it, invest in your bed and bedding. A bed with a comfortable, well made mattress is essential for adequate rest (set your budget, then wait for the half price sales!). Don’t forget the sheets. High thread count bedding is soft to the touch and welcoming after a long, hard day. I'm a big fan of Egyptian cotton and never tire of curling up in it. Absolutely scrumptious. I love my bed! And my bed loves me back. By rewarding me with a deep, healing restful sleep... and nourishing energy.
